“Are We True Believers?”

FHE: Lesson: “Are We True Believers?”

Principle: Testimony of Jesus Christ

“Through the Holy Spirit of Truth, may we all know ‘the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom [He has] sent.’ (John 17:3.) Then may we live Their teachings and be true Christians in deed, as well as in word.” ~ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“And it came to pass also that a new star did appear, according to the word.”
(3 Nephi 1:21)

Your children will watch the “awe” inspiring clip from The Animated Book of Mormon  SAMUEL & THE SIGN DVD with almost as much anticipation as the BELIEVERS did while watching for the sign of Christ’s birth!

Activity: Our Gifts for Jesus

“What will you give Jesus for Christmas?”

This fun ACTIVITY will teach your family how as TRUE BELIEVERS  in Jesus Christ (Christians) we can give Him gifts to show Him that we love Him: gifts of service, obedience and sharing His gospel.

Recipe: Fattigmann Bakkles (Poor Man’s Cakes)

“The spirit of giving gifts is present in the mind of each Christian.” ~ Thomas S. Monson

This old Norwegian recipe was called FATTIGMANN BAKKLES or POOR MAN’S CAKES, because it contained ingredients that everyone could afford (we added the icing). Make them as a reminder that everyone can afford to give gifts to Jesus of “obedience,”  “service” and “sharing the gospel.”
